Grandpa brought Miles the "Favorite Storybook Ever" by Richard Scarry. They read "Mr. Fixit" together, which apparently is Miles' favorite short story. Or maybe it's Grandpa Dave's favorite short story?! In any case, we're excited to have this book and will no doubt read through the whole thing by the end of the week. Miles LOVES books!In other news, Miles went to the Amazing Newborn Clinic today (only the amazing ones are allowed inside. All the other newborns have to go back home.). He weighs 11 lbs 13 oz today, which means he gained "only" 3 ounces since last Monday. He seemed pretty disappointed, and I don't blame him. With all the effort he puts in to eating, he deserves to gain more than a measly 3 ounces. Mommy and daddy, on the other hand, are a bit relieved that he gained only 3 ounces. We were afraid we'd have to install some sort of support system under his crib to help hold him up at night. Sounds like that won't need to happen for at least a few more weeks now. Whew!

Was this at the beginning or the end of Grandpa's shift? Miles might be trying to tell us something.
