jelly beaned out

Too. Much. Candy.

It was a super fun Easter weekend in St. Peter for all 6 little bunnies!  So much fun, in fact, that at least 2 out of the 6 are still wide awake and giggling (loudly) in their little bunny bunk beds.  I'm pretty sure the other 4 bunnies had a similar end to their bunny day....but for the sake of their bunny mommies and daddies, I hope not.

We'll leave it to the Grandma bunny to share most of the action via her blog (mostly because 99.9% of the 187 bunny pictures are on her bunny camera).  But here's a taste --

And bunny tails continued to wag...errrr...wiggle long after arriving home, as Ralph the Easter Bunny baskets of goodies in Otown!

Happy Easter -- and happy start to April!

It's Spring somewhere.

We're still holding out for Spring.  Then again, it is only March 23rd...and this is Minnesota.  Two out of the four of us love snow (Tanner and Weston being the party poopers).  We'll take it for as long as it lasts.  And by the looks of it, this stuff might last a few more weeks!

While daddy was vacuuming out the vehicles, the boys helped clean the floor mats.

Weston tried hauling away snow but didn't make it too far.  There was just too much to load into that little wagon!  He got an A+ for effort, though.

Here's Miles looking all Hollywood....the crazy outfit, sunglasses, and his desperate attempt to escape the lens of the camera. Suddenly mommy felt like the papparazzi.

On to supper.  We made our own pizzas!  Prize to the first person to correctly guess which pizza belongs to whom!  Tip: Miles and Westy shared a pizza.  Bonus Point: Which half belongs to which boy?

We expect tomorrow to be similar to today.  Mellow and with a long nap.  Hope yours is the same!

Important life lesson

Why is this little boy crying?

Look closely at his left nostril.  Looks a little brown, no?  Yeah, that's a chocolate chip.  We were watching American Ninja Warrier tonight (quality family time) and enjoying a few chocolate chips when suddenly Miles started crying.  He told us a chocolate chip was stuck up his nose.  I asked him how it got there and he pulled the "I don't know" card....didn't work.  He was totally busted.

The good news is that chocolate chips melt fast, especially when stuck in small body holes.  A few blows of the nose and Miles was in the clear!  Mostly.  I think there's still some smudge up in there, but it'll pass soon.

Miles' doctor has made it very clear that nothing smaller than your elbow should go in your ear or up your nose.  Perhaps this is proof that Miles is a hands-on learner...let's hope it was a lesson learned!

On another note, tonight is St. Patrick's eve.  St. Patty's day is most definitely Miles' favorite holiday, simply because leprechauns have been known to visit our house and cause mischief.  He's in bed now but the wheels are turning...just came out to inform me that Weston is scared about the leprechauns coming while we sleep, and wanted confirmation that leprechauns don't go into little kids' bedrooms.  I went back and talked with both of them about how leprechauns will stay far away from the bedrooms because they don't want to get caught!  They like to come in, cause their trouble, and move on.  Of course Weston had no idea what I was talking about -- all he wanted was for me to find beachballelephant (pet dolphin...it's a long story).  But Miles was totally tuned in and giving us all a pep talk on what to expect tonight with those silly leprechauns.  Bless his little heart.

Remember to wear your green tomorrow - or the leprechauns will pinch!  Or kiss!  And for goodness sake, please don't put any chocolate chips up your nose.

FFD

We surprised the kids today with a "family fun day"....no work, no school, just family fun all day!  Work and home life have been hectic lately and we were in need of some quality play time away from it all.  Although Tanner and I planned the trip ahead of time, we didn't tell the boys until this morning -- partly because we knew they'd be up waaaay too early.  Hard to tame the excitement in toddlers and preschoolers.

As it turned out, we woke up to Miles going potty (he's loud) at 6am.  For most families this probably isn't a big deal, but for us it is a big fat deal because he has never (ever ever ever) woken up at any point in the night or morning on his own to go to the bathroom.  So go figure that he makes his move on a weekday morning when we can all sleep.  Ha!  He finished his business and climbed back into bed, much to our surprise.  Approximately 11 minutes later...just as we started to doze off again...Westy started chirping.  Tanner brought him into bed with us where he proceeded to fiddle with 'Nina (his puppy), rub my back, twirl my hair around his little fingers, whisper to his daddy, and lay sideways so he could prop his legs up on my back.  Good thing he's so stinkin' cute or he would've been given the boot!  Speaking of cute, here he is with his arm stuck in the back of his chair.  Talk about drama...all he needed to do was lift it about an inch and pull it out.  Geesh.

Anyway, we all stayed in bed until about 7:15 this morning (well, Miles and I didn't venture out of our respective beds until more like 7:30...so awesome...), so it was a lovely start to the morning!

We told Miles that it was a special family day and he bounced around the house squealing with delight.  We kept our ultimate destination a secret and it drove him nuts.  He kept guessing the possibilities and we would neither confirm nor deny.  I finally told him we were going to clean manure out of a horse barn and he said, "REALLY??  Cool!  Where's the barn?"  Oh sweet baby...

So where did we go?  The Children's Museum!  Here are a few pictures.

It was a relatively quiet ride home.

And now we're all exhausted and in need of a good night's sleep.  So good night!
