As it turned out, we woke up to Miles going potty (he's loud) at 6am. For most families this probably isn't a big deal, but for us it is a big fat deal because he has never (ever ever ever) woken up at any point in the night or morning on his own to go to the bathroom. So go figure that he makes his move on a weekday morning when we can all sleep. Ha! He finished his business and climbed back into bed, much to our surprise. Approximately 11 minutes later...just as we started to doze off again...Westy started chirping. Tanner brought him into bed with us where he proceeded to fiddle with 'Nina (his puppy), rub my back, twirl my hair around his little fingers, whisper to his daddy, and lay sideways so he could prop his legs up on my back. Good thing he's so stinkin' cute or he would've been given the boot! Speaking of cute, here he is with his arm stuck in the back of his chair. Talk about drama...all he needed to do was lift it about an inch and pull it out. Geesh.
Anyway, we all stayed in bed until about 7:15 this morning (well, Miles and I didn't venture out of our respective beds until more like 7:30...so awesome...), so it was a lovely start to the morning!
We told Miles that it was a special family day and he bounced around the house squealing with delight. We kept our ultimate destination a secret and it drove him nuts. He kept guessing the possibilities and we would neither confirm nor deny. I finally told him we were going to clean manure out of a horse barn and he said, "REALLY?? Cool! Where's the barn?" Oh sweet baby...
So where did we go? The Children's Museum! Here are a few pictures.
It was a relatively quiet ride home.
And now we're all exhausted and in need of a good night's sleep. So good night!
