Finally Saturday

Thanks to President's Day, we had a short work/school week. But it felt really, really, really long. Weird how that happens. So we're glad it's Saturday and that we have nothing scheduled other than haircuts for Tanner and Miles (done first thing!) and a visit from Uncle Will.

While the boys were getting their hairs cut, Weston played with his puppy -

and he got a little exercise in his exersaucer.

Then it was his turn to get his hair done. Looks like he enjoyed the styling!

I took a turn at exercising...not a very flattering picture, but Miles thought it was funny that Mama was "frosted"!
The boys have had fun playing together today.

Lunch was delicious!

And we finally got Uncle Will and daddy to share. Look how nicely they're playing together!

A fun day at the Grimmius house in Otown. We hope you are enjoying your Saturday, too!

Snow day!!

We're getting blasted with a big snow storm today and guess what? I LOVE IT!! Lazy pj days are the best. We decided to make it a food day, too. Blueberry and lemon poppyseed muffins for breakfast (don't be fooled - they weren't from scratch), monkey bread for a mid-morning (and probably all day) treat, and beef stew in the crock pot later on. Fire up your snowmobile (or hop a jet plane if you're in NC) and come join the fun!

There's lots of playing to do today.

Here's a look out our front door around 7:30am.

And at 9:30am.

Just wait for the afternoon photos...wooot woooooot!

Happy V-Day!

It's Valentine's Day! We hope it's as exciting of a day at your house as it is at ours...lots of love is in the air! Cupid made a stop at our house in the middle of the night. None of us were awake when he came, so we're not sure how he got in - maybe the dryer vent?

In any case, Cupid sure is a festive dude! He left a trail of hearts for us to follow, and at the end was a pile of presents. The first heart started right here... So silly!

There were lots and lots of hearts to follow. Good thing we don't have a big house!
WOW!
Miles got a stamp pad (apparently he hasn't seen many stamp pads before), stamps, markers, stickers, and goldfish crackers. Oh yes, and some sweet tarts (or "sweenatarts", if you ask him...).
And Weston got some rice cereal! Yummmmmmmy! He can't wait to try it out later this week.

Mommy thinks daddy was the luckiest one of all, as he got a box of Girl Scout cookies.

But really, the best things today are...

FREE KISSES :) We hope you get a whole bunch!

Another MILEStone...going to the dentist!

For the first time in his young life, Miles went to the dentist. He loved it! We prepared him by talking about how much we like going to the dentist (well, daddy likes it anyway) and how important it is to have checkups for our teeth just like we do for the rest of our body. We also talked up the fun ride he'd get to take in a big fancy chair, and that he'd get to choose his flavor of toothpaste and even get to bring some home. We had him hooked immediately.

We know the best dentists are located in St. Peter, but unfortunately our schedule didn't allow for such a trip. So Miles saw Dr. Huxford here in Otown. Miles is a pretty curious kid, so we were confident that he'd tune right in to what the hygienist and dentist were doing and would be just fine. The only thing that really throws him off kilter is loud noise... We were a wee bit concerned over how he'd react to the buzzing of the tooth polisher and the suction noise from the sucker thingy. Sure enough, his little body tightened up as the hygienist showed him all of the tools, but she talked him through it and he relaxed fairly quickly. His cute nervous giggles also helped to lighten the mood.

Miles couldn't figure out why the hygienist kept fiddling around behind his back. He was a bit suspicious.

Who's nervous?! (Incidentally, this is the same face he makes when he has to...well...do his business in the bathroom.)

Miles and the hygienist had fun talking about "tooth bugs" -
Miles is wondering if she really needs such a sharp tool to count his teeth. Hmmmmm. She found 20 hiding in his mouth, so it's probably good she had the special counter to help out.

Brushing!

Flossing!

Dr. Huxford counted Miles' teeth one last time...fortunately he found 20, too!

We had a great time visiting the dental office and Miles is certainly looking forward to his next visit. YAY!!
