Pretty soon he'll be driving...

Driving us as crazy as his big brother does, anyway:)
Just kidding!

Weston is already nine months old. Wow! Time sure flies when you're having fun. You probably don't remember Miles' stats at this age...but I guarantee you remember that he was a pudgy monkey! Here are Miles' measurements from when he was 10 months old --

Weight = 26 lbs 4 oz (97th percentile)
Height = 30.5 inches (95th percentile)
Head Circumference = 19 inches (97th percentile)
Depth of Chin Dimple = .16 cm (67th percentile)

And a photo:
Weston is taking more of a long & lean approach to his first year of life. Don't be fooled though - he definitely has some cute rolls to pinch on his thighs. Here are Westy's latest measurements:

Weight = 20 lbs 13 oz (Probably more like 20 lbs 11 oz, as he was chewing on a rubber spoon while he was weighed. But who's keeping track, right?! 53rd percentile)
Height = 30 inches (91st percentile)
Head Circumference = 18.5 iches (74th percentile)
Depth of Chin Dimple = .15 cm (60th percentile)

And a photo:

They both are off the charts in terms of being mama's boys. That's the way I like it :)

Busy brothers

What's a good way to pass the time on a hot summer morning? Make some home movies! Here are the boys in action...

Miles loves to use the broken Shark cordless vacuum. Not sure where he gets that from (ahem), but I don't mind it. The only thing broken about it is the handle -- and the fact that it's broken means it's the perfect size for a 3 year old boy!

And Weston's favorite toy? Door stoppers. We can't keep him away from the door stoppers in this house. No matter how hard we try to divert his attention or hide them, he always goes back. As Tanner and I watched this video tonight, we realized it's like he has a magnetic attraction to them. Maybe he does!

Growing and growing and growing

I just realized the pictures of the boys on the right side of the blog are a bit outdated. Believe it or not, Miles and Weston have grown in the last few months! It's hot in MN these days, so when we're not pool-side, we're inside staying cool.

Westy is learning how to share. Or maybe daddy is learning the bad habit of dooza sucking.
Either way, it's pretty funny!
Miles started swimming lessons this morning at the OCC. It's every day from 10-10:30am for two weeks. That's a lot of pool time! When I picked him up from school to bring him today, there was an extra little pep to Miles' step...he was so excited! He's in Level 1 with about a dozen other kids. They split the class up into two groups, and it seems to be a good mix of ages/abilities/bravery. He kept up just fine, although he did stay pretty close to the lifeguard the entire time....occasionally he'd hold on to her arm and hand while she talked. She'd look down at him and he'd just smile. What a kid!

Testing the water...
And deep in conversation with his new friend.
Crawl Stroke 101: Practicing the Scoop
He was so proud of himself for jumping in the water. He practiced several times in the last couple of weeks with daddy...looks like all that hard work paid off!

Weston really likes splashing in the water, too. We've had some fun family outings! It's great having access to the pool at the country club because the only other option in town (besides inside at a hotel) is a water park that costs an outrageous amount of money for what ends up being just an hour or two of time with the kids. It sure makes us realize how awesome it was to grow up in a town with a public pool. We were spoiled by the St. Peter pool...the big pit with the diving boards, the large pool with a shallow and deep end, and of course the baby pool. It may be where I failed multiple swimming lessons (but still ate the donuts they gave us as a reward) and Tanner smoked by the bike racks...but it was a good place for us to hang out in the summer.

Just kidding. Tanner really didn't smoke by the bike racks -- but it's a family joke that, after hearing a hundred times, makes you wonder if maybe he really did :)
