Parade + St. Peter (but not together)

We spent a lovely part of last weekend in St. Peter. The weather was beautiful, all four grandparents were around, and babies Ethan and Owen showed up too (along with their mommy and daddy). Before heading to St. Peter, though, we watched a super cool parade in Otown. The Owatonna Fire Dept hosted the 134th Annual State Firefighters Convention. It exceeded our expectations - not only were there fire trucks, but also horses, fat guys on scooters, bands, and a few puppies. Claire and her mommy kept us company along the parade route. They sure know how to watch parades!

And Claire sure knows how to do the princess wave!
Upon arriving in St. Peter, we set up camp at G&G G's house. After going for a spin around the block in this 15-year-old-but-still-in-almost-perfect-condition bike trailer...

Miles decided he'd had enough and wanted nothing to do with the stinkin' (but totally rad) helmet.
Then we strolled over to the Treemendous Playground where we found an important piece of history (thanks G&G G!):

Miles settled in for the night after hearing a fabulous rendition of Doggies by Gpa Dave (who, by the way, quickly realized it was more obnoxious than calming and bed-time-like....but still fun!).

Sunday proved to be another busy day of hiking to (and playing at) parks, this time with Gpa Larry.

On the way, we got distracted by an airplane. SO EXCITING!!!!
This is what we found upon returning home to G&G P's house:
A snoozing Owen with Gma Jill...

And a snoozing Ethan with his mommy!

At the end of the day, Uncle Charlie scooted off to his coaching duties at Gustie basketball camp, and the babies and toddler ate some food (and then ate some more).

We're almost half way through the week now. It's raining cats and dogs (Miles wishes) in Otown, which makes for a good night to surf the internet and watch tv. Oh wait...that's what we do every night. Anyway, before heading off to bed Miles struck a pose in his new jammies.

I think he's got a future as a model! Hopefully for fish jammies. They look good on him.

We had a great time with you this weekend Miles! We will have to do more cousin weekends in the future. Ethan and Owen are very excited to hear all about airplanes, trains, and fire trucks. Someday they will understand.

The pajama pose is perfect. A little guy in his new jammies, hair all tousled---good night, Miley!
