At the Zoo

Big thanks to G&G G for the fun trip to Como Zoo last weekend! I don't know how much they paid for the nice weather, but it couldn't have been cheap. It was in the mid-60s and mostly cloudy -- the perfect climate for a usually sweaty little boy and his usually sweaty mommy.

We were extra spoiled by having Uncle Will along for the ride. He and Miles were good buddies for much of the day....pretty sure most people thought Will was Miles' daddy, but that's okay. It meant Tanner was off the hook when it came to any sort of tantrum-like behavior exhibited by our blonde monkey.

Anyway, here Miles and Uncle Will talked with Mr. Zebra. Did you know that zebras can have a lifespan of 40 years in captivity? That means the chances of us seeing this very same zebra next summer are very good.

My favorite part of the zoo is their butterfly exhibit. Unfortunately it was a wee bit cold for the butterflies, so they didn't do much fluttering. They were still very pretty. Rumor has it this is the last year of the exhibit. Bummer :(

Miles also had an opportunity to catch up with a long lost relative. I won't tell you if he's a Potts or a Grimmius.

Who's really the monkey in the middle?!

Grandpa Dave's camera snapped a lot more pictures...maybe he'll send one of Grandma and Miles walking through the zoo...maybe if he does that, I'll put it on the blog....

We ended the day with a yummy picnic in a park. When it came time to pack up the coolers and head home, Miles decided to make one last attempt at freeing the animals. Too bad Uncle Will was right on his tail!
