His birthday festivities started today with a party at school. Here he is celebrating and eating baby goldfish with his friends.
He was a happy guy!
Tanner and I both went to pick up the kids from school today. On the way home we heard a catchy tune on the radio and Miles asked what it was called. Neither Tanner nor I had heard it before, but it had a good beat so we cranked it up and started groovin'. Before we knew it, Westy's little head was bobbing all around and his hands were jiving. It was one big dance party! One of the best family moments we've had in the last year...I wish I could've bottled it up for future use :)The fun continued into the evening as we had some prepping to do for Weston's birthday. First, he had to practice walking. Very important to work on such skills prior to turning ONE. If only it weren't such a game...
At this rate, I'm afraid we might still be working on his walking technique the night before his high school graduation party. Sigh.
All of the silliness wore Weston out. As soon as he went to bed, Miles and I got busy making the frosting for his cake. We didn't eat any of it, though.
HEY!Daddy needed some too. Note Miles' expression. He gets it from his father, who sticks his tongue out when feeding babies. It's like a reflex or something.
Just a few more odds and ends to take care of in the morning and then we'll be ready to party hard with grandparents, uncles, an aunt, and cousins. Westy hopes they all bring their dancin' shoes!

Can't wait to get some of that frosting!
Westy is a lot closer to walking at age 1 than most of the Potts side of the family. I'm happy Miles is encouraging him and giggling right along with him, too!
Go Westy! You're not kidding about this being a game. He's so funny! Love your haircut, Annie. Oh, and super cute photo of friends @ school. Who's the poor kid with the helmet?!
